The Life & Times of Fr Gerry Reynolds – Talk on Unity Pilgrim 13 Sept, West Belfast Historical Society

I will be giving a talk for the West Belfast Historical Society on ‘The Life and Times of Fr Gerry Reynolds’ on Friday, 13 September, at 7.30 pm at St Michael’s Catholic Church, Finaghy Road North, Belfast.

The event is free and you do not need to be a member of the Society to attend.

I will be sharing insights and stories from my new biography of Fr Gerry, Unity Pilgrim: The Life of Fr Gerry Reynolds CSsR. The book spans from Gerry’s birth to his death. While it highlights his peacemaking and ecumenical work during his three decades in Belfast’s Clonard Monastery, it also sheds light on the influences of his early life, his pioneering work in Catholic journalism in the 1970s, his time as rector at Mt Saint Alphonsus in Limerick, and how prayer kept him going in tough times.

There will be Q&A and an opportunity to purchase the book (£12).

You can read a number of reviews of the book here.

The book also can be purchased online.

  1. Gladys, I just ordered your new book on Gerry Reynolds, and I’m intrigued to note that on Friday, while you’re speaking at St. Michael’s Church, I’ll be leading a workshop on “Living Faith in Polarized and Uncertain Times: Lessons from Northern Ireland”–featuring Gerry Reynolds, Sam Burch, Joe Campbell, ECONI, and others you’re so familiar with–for the annual conference of The Colossian Forum, an organization I love and which in some ways functions as an ECONI for American Christians in 2019. Every blessing on the work you continue to do!
