Considering Grace Conference and Launch of Study Resource

Yesterday I was part of an online conference about my book, co-authored with Jamie Yohanis, Considering Grace: Presbyterians and the Troubles.

The conference also marked the launch of study resources to accompany the book. The resources were written by Dave Thompson and developed out of a process that involved focus groups in six locations around Northern Ireland.

You can read a description of the resources here. They are available to order here free of charge. You also can still order copies of Considering Grace.

Considering Grace was never meant to be a book that sat on a shelf: it was always hoped it would stimulate reflection and action. So it’s our hope that the study resources can help local congregations and small groups create spaces that can promote healing and forgiveness within their congregations; and contribute to wider societal discussions on dealing with the past.

The main speakers at the conference, Canon David Porter and Rev Dr Stafford Carson, reflected on the book’s potential impact within the Presbyterian Church and more widely.

There was also a panel discussion that included the speakers, Dr Nicola Brady (General Secretary of the Irish Council of Churches), Jamie Yohanis, and me.

You can read a summary of the conference here, including excerpts from their remarks.
